Reasons Why Our Religious Leaders Particularly Pastors Are Not Speaking Against The Politicians In Nigeria

Reasons Why Our Religious Leaders Particularly Pastors Are Not Speaking Against The Politicians In Nigeria:
In the face of men's heart failing them to confront the mirage of bad governance in our society, I therefore present myself that I, Lugard Osakpamwan Ekhator, will by the special grace of God, stand to blow the trumpet of God's truth, in the declaration of His good counsel concerning mankind Psalms 33:11, especially among the body of Christ. May the grace of Our LORD Jesus Christ be multiply upon me to fulfill this great task in Jesus name, amen.
I was in a revelation a few days ago when I saw one of the most 'respected' General Overseer (G.O) of one of these ever increasing Pentecostal churches in Nigeria, kneeling down with his head bow, and the current President of Nigeria, Mr. Goodluck Jonathan, placing his hands on the head of this G.O and praying for him. After seeing this scenario, I got up from where I was relaxing, and with much worries in my mind looking at the implications of this revelation to the body of Christ spiritually, I therefore decided to put pen to paper to the glory of God. May His name be praise forever, Amen.

Why Our Pastors Are Silent Over Government Ineptitude And Servitude:

1. Spoil From The Government Table:
This is the principal area that have succeeded in weakening the body of Christ through the pastors of today. They can no longer speak the truth to these politicians as a result of their 'share of the spoil of office' from the government circles andofficials. They've soiled their hands with the corruption in the government circle hence, their mutely when the government goes haywire. Where are the Daniels of today, who will purpose not to defile himself with the king's (politicians) rich meat Daniel 1:8, who will look the king (politicians) in the eyes and declared 'you have been weighed in the balance and you are found wanting' Daniel 5:17-28.

2. Religious Bigotry:
Our pastors today considers everyone that goes to church 'a Christian', even when such a one lives opposite of the bible (Christian) life. What a terrible assumption! If not, how come the politicians who belongs to secret societies and secret cults to get their party nominations, make ritual sacrifices to win elections, embezzle public funds for their personal gain and aggrandisement using their political office, men who bribes their way to the top are now celebrated by these pastors? They invites them for 'special thanksgiving' in their churches, where they (politicians) part with their looted and stolen money from the public coffers. No wonder some of our pastors are now the mouth piece of the Federal Government of Nigeria.
In 2011, this religious bigotry played out with Pastor Ayo Oritshejafor. Shortly after INEC declared Goodluck Jonathan, as the winner of the 2011 Presidential elections, the terrorists and street urchins in the North took to the streets killing, maiming and destroying properties, for whatever reason(s) they claimed to be fighting that, Pastor Ayo Oritshejafor, the Presidents of PFN & CAN, called on the Federal government to arrest General Muhammadu Buhari, claiming that Buhari was the sole sponsor of the violence, even without any evidence or investigations, linking Buhari to the crisis.
Also, on January 1, 2012, after President Goodluck Jonathan, increased the pump price of PMS from N65/litre to N141/litre, that Nigerian youths and other aggrieved compatriots of this nation, took to the streets to register their objections and rejection of the increment in totality. In the process, the government security forces sent some promising Nigerians to their early graves, their crime being that, they protested against the government harsh policy on the citizenry.
Now, despite the momentum and support the protests recorded across Nigeria, all our pastors, I mean, all our pastors except Pastor Tunde Bakare, went into hiding. What a shame! They became deaf and dumb overnight, as no one till date, have sum up courage to challenge the Federal government over that wicked policy. Nigerians, are you better off today? Where is the money that the Federal government have saved from the subsidy they removed from PMS? The silence of our pastors caused me to write during that horrible darkness that befell Nigeria on January 4, 2012, what I termed "Where Is Our Pastors?" See link here https://www.facebook.com/notes/lugard-ekhator/where-is-our-pastors/2616966861652
Meanwhile, if the president that increased the PMS pump price on January 1, 2012 was a Muslim, trust these bigots pastors, they will become Nigerian masses overnight, calling on Nigerians to resists the new pump price, claiming that the policy was aimed against the 'Christians'. So, how will they speak, when their brother is in charge now? Therefore, where are the Nathan and the John the Baptist of today that will tell the king (President) to his face, 'what you do is not good' 2 Samuel 12:7, Mark 6:18.

3. Ethnic Sentiments And Sympathy:
The fact that we have pastors who are ethnically sentimental and sympathetic to the government of the day, all because they come from the same region or place, make it abundantly impossible for them to criticize the government when they go astray. This is why the bible enjoins us not to join the multitude to commit sin 2 Corinthians 6:17. Where are the Micaiah of today, who will declare the counsel of the Lord to the President? 2 Chronicles 18:13-27. People of God, these and many more are the reasons our pastors cannot stand with the truth with the government of the day, as they are eating from the same pot.
This is also the reason that, despite the monies that Former President Olusegun Obasanjo claimed to recover from the Abacha stolen money, including the ones President Goodluck Jonathan had recovered, nobody, including our pastors are asking them, what they have done with the billions of dollars or, where they kept them for Nigerians to see for themselves. What a mess!

Now, the bible in Proverbs 16:12 declared "It is an abomination to kings to commit wickedness: for the throne is established by righteousness". Nigerians, where is righteousness among the so called Christian President, Governors, Deputy Governors, Senators, House of Representatives Members, House of Assembly Members, Ministers, Commissioners, Local Government Chairmen, Counsellors, Supervising Counsellors, Special Assistants, Special Advisers, Head and Members of Boards and Parastatals and other public office holders and political appointees? What do we have today within the Federal, State and Local governments circles in Nigeria? Is it not wickedness, terrorism against the citizenry, intimidation and insecurity, corruptions and embezzlement, silencing of the common man and joblessness, self enrichment and corruption induced tendencies? What hope do we have today, even with private jets trotting pastors?
May God raise men that will stand to defend His name in Nigeria today in Jesus name, amen.
God bless you all.
