Obedience Is All That Is Required Of You

Obedience Is All That Is Required Of You

Text: 1 Samuel 15:22 “And Samuel said, Hath the LORD as great delight in burnt offerings and sacrifices, as in obeying the voice of the LORD? Behold, TO OBEY IS BETTER THAN SACRIFICE, and to hearken than the fat of rams.”
Malachi 1:6 “A son honoureth his father, and a servant his master: IF THEN I BE A FATHER, WHERE IS MY HONOUR? AND IF I BE A MASTER, WHERE IS MY FEAR? saith the LORD of hosts unto you, O priests, that despise my name. And ye say, Wherein have we despised thy name?”

Obedience to the word of God is all that the Almighty Father in heaven required of us today. Many of us are making wonderful sacrifices in giving to God offerings and promoting the things of God in the churches financially, but we are disobeying and rebelling against the slightest instructions of God at the same time.

Brethren, don’t you ever think that your offerings and sacrifices towards the things of God will ever cause God to adjust His own FAITHFUL AND SETTLED words or lower His own HIGH STANDARDS for you. You will be making the gravest of all mistakes if this is your position and thinking.
This is so for God is seeing you ‘AS A WITCH’ for your rebellious stand against His word (1 Samuel 15:23 For rebellion is as the sin of witchcraft, and stubbornness is as iniquity and idolatry. Because thou hast rejected the word of the LORD, he hath also rejected thee from being king) and the bible says ‘A WITCH MUST DIE’ (Exodus 22:18 Thou shalt not suffer a witch to live.) So, how can you live when you are appearing as a witch/wizard before the Almighty God? Micah 5:12 “And I will cut off witchcrafts out of thine hand; and thou shalt have no more soothsayers:” Please repent now!

Moses feared that the commandments of the LORD will be greatly disobeyed after his death by the children of Israel, if the Israelites could put up such a rebellious attitude against God, when he (Moses) the law giver was still alive with them. So, what are we not seeing today in the churches of Jesus Christ?
REBELLIOUS TEACHINGS! REBELLIOUS PREACHING! REBELLIOUS TITHES! REBELLIOUS OFFERINGS! REBELLIOUS CLOTHING! REBELLIOUS APPEARANCE! EVERYTHING TODAY IN THE CHURCHES IS NOTHING BUT PURE REBELLION AGAINST GOD.

Deuteronomy 9:22-25
22 And at Taberah, and at Massah, and at Kibrothhattaavah, ye provoked the LORD to wrath.
23 Likewise when the LORD sent you from Kadeshbarnea, saying, Go up and possess the land which I have given you; then ye rebelled against the commandment of the LORD your God, and ye believed him not, nor hearkened to his voice.
24 YE HAVE BEEN REBELLIOUS AGAINST THE LORD FROM THE DAY THAT I KNEW YOU.
25 Thus I fell down before the LORD forty days and forty nights, as I fell down at the first; because the LORD had said he would destroy you.

Deuteronomy 31:27-29
27 For I know thy rebellion, and thy stiff neck: behold, while I am yet alive with you this day, ye have been rebellious against the LORD; and how much more after my death?
28 Gather unto me all the elders of your tribes, and your officers, that I may speak these words in their ears, and call heaven and earth to record against them.
29 For I know that after my death ye will utterly corrupt yourselves, and turn aside from the way which I have commanded you; and evil will befall you in the latter days; because ye will do evil in the sight of the LORD, to provoke him to anger through the work of your hands.

Few days ago, two families paid us a visit. One of them was actually my former church member when the Parish of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG) I was pastoring then was still standing. It has since folded up anyway.
So, because they were still using the worldly things of jewelries and earrings, I started to minister the word of God to them. This time, not as a former pastor but as a reformed Christian, teaching and practicing the word of God by His grace in total obedience and holiness. They themselves were surprised because this was not my pattern and approach of preaching the word of God when I was their pastor.

Therefore, to the glory of the Almighty God in heaven, they removed their earrings and the ones on their children without me even telling them to do so at that particular time, when I was still preaching. Brethren, I give God all the praise for the brokenness of the hearts of these children of God, and I must let you know that this is how God desire us to react whenever we hear His word as Hebrews 4:7 says “Again, he limiteth a certain day, saying in David, To day, after so long a time; as it is said, To day if ye will hear his voice, harden not your hearts.”
At the end, one of the women said “WE DON'T HAVE PASTORS AT ALL AS NONE HAD EVER TOLD US THIS KIND OF TRUTH”. You see, this is the precarious situation that the today's pastors have plunged the church of Jesus Christ into. I pray, Almighty Father, let the revival of true holiness, righteousness and obedience to your word break forth in all the churches of Jesus Christ on earth today in Jesus name. Amen.

However, when I attended the Jalingo conference of Holiness Revival Movement Worldwide in July, 2013, as strong as the presence of God was alive when Pastor Paul Rika was ministering and speaking against jewelries and other worldliness in the denominational churches, in my spirit I was desiring to see the women from the various churches who adorned themselves with these worldliness of jewelries, rings, earrings, bangles and others to start removing and throwing them out of their body, but none were moved even though the dangers associated with the use of those evil things were biblically outlined and spelt out by the man of God.
I tell you, the generation of today's Christians is the one seeking after signs before they will EVER believed, especially as it is not their church pastors preaching this hard truth to them John 8:32. Stiff necked Christians, may God have mercy on you all today in Jesus name. Amen.
John 20:24-25. 24 But Thomas, one of the twelve, called Didymus, was not with them when Jesus came. 25 The other disciples therefore said unto him, We have seen the Lord. But he said unto them, EXCEPT I SHALL SEE IN HIS HANDS THE PRINT OF THE NAILS, AND PUT MY FINGER INTO THE PRINT OF THE NAILS, AND THRUST MY HAND INTO HIS SIDE, I WILL NOT BELIEVE.
Mark 8:12 And he sighed deeply in his spirit, and saith, Why doth this generation seek after a sign? verily I say unto you, There shall no sign be given unto this generation.

Brothers and sisters in Christ, 2013 is winding up in a few hours today. In the upcoming New Year 2014, are you going to continue in your rebellious practices against the word of God? Are you going to continue in your stiff-necked attitudes and continue also in compromising the word of God? We will continue in your half obedience to the word of God? I pray that there will be a better you in 2014 in Jesus name.
Don’t forget that holiness is still the key to making heaven because the LORD God Almighty, whom you are serving, is a holy God. 1 Peter 1:15-16. 15 “But as he which hath called you is holy, so be ye holy in all manner of conversation; 16 Because it is written, Be ye holy; for I am holy.” So, no two ways or short cut about it.

God bless you as I wish you a prosperous New Year 2014 in advance.

Shalom!

I live you with this heaven song titled 'Trust and Obey'. It is a credit from http://library.timelesstruths.org/music/Trust_and_Obey/

  1. When we walk with the Lord in the light of His Word,
    What a glory He sheds on our way!
    While we do His good will, He abides with us still,
    And with all who will trust and obey.
    • Refrain:
      Trust and obey, for there’s no other way
      To be happy in Jesus, but to trust and obey.
  2. Not a shadow can rise, not a cloud in the skies,
    But His smile quickly drives it away;
    Not a doubt or a fear, not a sigh or a tear,
    Can abide while we trust and obey.
  3. Not a burden we bear, not a sorrow we share,
    But our toil He doth richly repay;
    Not a grief or a loss, not a frown or a cross,
    But is blessed if we trust and obey.
  4. But we never can prove the delights of His love
    Until all on the altar we lay;
    For the favor He shows, for the joy He bestows,
    Are for them who will trust and obey.
  5. Then in fellowship sweet we will sit at His feet,
    Or we’ll walk by His side in the way;
    What He says we will do, where He sends we will go;
    Never fear, only trust and obey.
