RCCG Un-Biblical Practice Over Water Baptism

RCCG Un-Biblical Practice Over Water Baptism
Text: Ehesians 4:5 One Lord, one faith, one baptism.
If you are a Worker in RCCG, you should be conversant with what I am about to share.
Apart from infant baptism which is being practiced by the Catholic Church and Lutheran Church of Christ in Nigeria (LCCN) of which I know, or any other form(s) of water baptism outside immersion (deeping, submerging) practiced by other churches is un-biblical and unacceptable to the Christian faith and believes.
When I newly gave my life to the Lord Jesus Christ, one of the teachings I was taught was water baptism. In fact, when I was undergoing Baptismal class in Church of God Mission (CGM), there was no teaching on re-baptizing. All that were taught was simply baptism by immersion and the need to be baptized properly, if you were coming out from Catholic Church as they (Catholic Church) don't conduct any water baptism but, sprinkling of water on infants which they termed 'baptism' and it is not.
To the glory of God, I was baptized in Church of God Mission (CGM) by immersion in 1997/1998, at Ogba River, Oredo LGA, Benin City, Edo State, Nigeria. My fervent Christian life then also helped me to become one of the baptismal teachers in CGM, Gospel House, Iyaro Branch, Benin City, Edo State, Nigeria.
Now, baptism is not for infants but, for the children of God who have come of age to renounce sin. Mark 1:5 “And there went out unto him all the land of Judaea, and they of Jerusalem, and were all baptized of him in the river of Jordan, confessing their sins”.
In Matthew 3:13, it reads “Then cometh Jesus from Galilee to Jordan unto John, to be baptized of him”. Our Lord Jesus Christ was already of age and about to begin His earthly Ministry, before He went down to John the Baptist to be baptized by him. Therefore, you Catholic Priest, Reverend Father, Pope, Bishop or whatever your post and position, that is still conducting 'Sprinkling of water on infants babies' as baptism, repent now or else, the judgment of God awaits you, as you are deliberately ‘adding’ to the word of God Revelation 22:18.
The bible in Colossians 2:12 says, “Buried with him in baptism, wherein also ye are risen with him through the faith of the operation of God, who hath raised him from the dead”. Catholics and other water sprinkling churches, there's no way you can bury someone by living the dead body on the surface of the ground (sprinkle water) but, it must be buried in a dugout grave, below (water bodies - streams, rivers etc) the ground level. You Catholics are contradicting the bible with your ‘self’ imposed ungodly practice. Honestly, if you were baptized by the Catholic Church with sprinkling of water, you have not been baptized all. Go out of Catholic now, and look for a ‘bible believing and teaching church’, so that you can get baptize normally, properly and biblically.
Now, in the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), you are made (forced) to undergo a second time water baptism by immersion. (Please, Almighty God, forgive me because, I have been made to go against your word for baptizing the second time by RCCG). This they (RCCG) do with the pretense that, should you ‘decides to continue with them’; you must be re-baptized to prove your allegiance to the RCCG doctrine. I would have objected to this ungodly practice of RCCG mission, if I were having the understanding of God's word then, which I have now by the grace of God, after joining RCCG by 'accident' in 2005.
Men and brethren, this practice of double water baptism by immersion of RCCG Mission, is not only un-biblical but also a 'wicked practice', which is capable of making you to become a ‘water baptism harlot’, should you choose to join another church tomorrow, which equally have the same unholy and un-biblical practice of water baptism by immersion. This practice in RCCG is also a ‘deception’ because, as far as the things of God and heaven is concern, no one denomination will make anybody to enter heaven but, your personal relationship with the Lord Jesus Christ, and your total obedience to the word of God, coupled with a holy and righteous living. Beware therefore of the deception of the devil.
Moreover, the bible makes it abundantly clear that, we (Christians) have one Baptism Ephesians 4:5. This is so, as the body of Christ (denominational churches) is one body, which is united by the same Holy Spirit in one Lord, by the same God 1 Corinthians 12:5-6. So, how come the churches of today are practicing different things and yet claimed that we are serving the same God? This is the deceit of mere mortals (men).
Therefore, if a particular denomination enforces a law, which is at best a ‘double standard’ in the Christendom, are they trying to say that, until and unless you belong to their denomination, you cannot make heaven? They surely have things to answer to God when the time comes.
The Lord Jesus Christ, who is our 'perfect example', was almost refused water baptism by John the Baptist but He says, “to fulfill all righteousness, suffer it to be so now” Matthew 3:15. Jesus Christ was baptized once. The eunuch says “See, here is water; what doth hinder me to be baptized?” Acts 8:36-38. The eunuch was equally baptized once.
The Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG) preaches against sin, no doubt but, do they tell you or do mention what these sins are? Of course not! This is the more reason their double standard in water baptism is ‘hypocritical’, and they know it. Go to any RCCG Parish/branch today, and see how the ‘world’ has taken over the church. Their ministers (the same people they forced to baptize twice) are all full of 'idols' on their bodies (earrings, chains/bangles, necklaces, rings etc 1 John 5:21). Their women are abominations to God (wearing trousers Deut. 22:5). They are daughters of Jezebel (painting their faces, mouths, finger nails, eye lids etc 2 Kings 9:30; Jer. 4:30). Their women are women with strange apparel (weavon, attachment, eye lashes, false finger nails etc Zephaniah 1:8). They are children of seduction (mini skirts, sleeveless clothing, body hugs, clothes exposing sensitive body parts, high heels shoes, etc Revelation 2:20; 1 John 2:26).
Please, my people of God, don’t be deceived and do not be carried away by the craftiness and sleight of men that lie in wait to deceive you Ephesians 4:14. Search your bible very well and see, if there’s any place you will read about people going for double baptism by immersion. This un-biblical practice of water baptism by RCCG must be resisted, if you must obey the word of God. Should they therefore refuses you from becoming a worker under them, by reason of your refusal to be re-baptize, go out from them and look for a ‘true bible’ church that preaches and practice the bible in truth and holiness, not this eyes service mission whereby everybody is led by what the G.O says, and not what the bible says.
You often hear the propagators of this ungodly practice declaring that, it is the ‘policy of RCCG’, for any person that want to remain in the ministry to abide with. This is not withstanding even though the policy is at variance with the Bible. Now, must we obey mere men obnoxious and un-biblical policy and go against the ‘Policy of the word of God’? Was this practice also part of the ‘meaning’ of RCCG, as was given to the Founder, Late Pastor Akindayomi by God?
May God open your eyes today, so that you can see beyond your nose to the realm of the Spirit in Jesus name, amen.
God bless you.

  1. YOU ARE SPEKING THE RIGHT THING. BEFORE ONE IS BAPTIZE, HE MUST BE TAUGHT, AND HE BELIEVED AND WILL BE BAPTIZED. LISTEN TO WHAT MARK CHAPTER 16 VRS 15 DOWN,And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature. 16 He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved; but he that believeth not shall be damned. 17 And these signs shall follow them that believe; In my name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues; 18 They shall take up serpents; and if they drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt them; they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover.

  2. Dear Baptist Christian brothers and sisters, the "ritual" or mode of baptism is not what is important! If we must do everything EXACTLY as Christ did it, why do Baptists use "shooter glasses" in their Lord's Supper instead of passing around ONE "cup" as Christ did? The Baptist insistence on strict adherence to the ritual of Baptism is a violation of the New Covenant. We are no longer bound by ritual, but by the work of the Holy Spirit in the hearts and souls of men.

The mode of Baptism is not what matters. What matters is the convert's submission to God's command to be baptized, and God's response in and to this act.

  3. WHAT HINDERS ME ME FROM BEING BAPTIZED?

When the Ethiopian eunuch said what hinders me from being baptized, did he mean what hinders me from being immersed, poured, or sprinkled?

Acts 8:36 Now as they went down the road, they came to somewater. And the eunuch said, "See, here is water. What hinders me from being baptized?" (NKJV)

Acts 8:36 As they were going down the road, they came to somewater; and the eunuch said, "Look! Here's some water! Is there any reason why I shouldn't be immersed?" (CJB-Complete Jewish Bible)

Acts 8:36 And , as they went on their way, they came to certain water; and the eunuch said, Look, here is water; what is there to hinder me from being immersed? (TBVOTNT-The Better Version of The New Testament by Chester Estes)

There are no translations of the Bible that translates Acts 8:36 as..."What hinders me from being poured or sprinkled."

The only place water baptism is expressed as sprinkling and pouring is in books written by men. Do preachers, pastors, priests, and the early church fathers have the authority to change immersion to sprinkling or pouring?

If preachers, pastors, priests, and the early church fathers have been given the authority to change immersion to sprinkling or pouring, then why can they not change water to olive oil or milk. The example of a man-made verse of Scripture. (Acts 8:36 Now as they went down the road, they came to some olive oil or milk. And the eunuch said, "See here is olive oil or milk. What hinders me from being poured or sprinkled?")

God has not authorized any preacher, pastor, priest, nor the early church fathers to change immersion to poured or sprinkled.

God inspired one book, the Bible.

  4. I was baptised by immersion at Ogba River in Benin. Years later, I joined RCCG. I am now a minister and never was asked nor made to baptise again.

  5. Rebaptism may be necessary in situations of deep denominational divide. For example, what water baptism by immersion means in the Mormon church is quite different to the meaning attached to the same ritual in RCCG.

The case of the writer does not require rebaptism because there is no obvious deep denominational divide he transited.

  6. I also think the writer has been a bit shallow-minded in his analysis here. There is actually no perfect church today, even the churches where they emphasize on the issues of things to wear and those not to were. Whereas they are part of what must be observed by obedient children of God, they should not be construed as God's most important virtues. "....do all things in the name of the Lord Jesus (Eph. 5:20; Col. 3:17)" is a very important injunction. If you got baptized again in RCCG with grudges, who will you blame before the Lord.
'One baptism' does not mean one instance of baptism, it simply means 'that baptismal exercise that is correctly, acceptably and faithfully done in Christ Jesus alone and not in any other'.
Do people not fall back to grave sin even after giving their lives to Christ only to repent much later and God still accepts them.
Except by the writer's own interpretation, there is nothing in that scripture that suggests that just any baptism is sacrosanct such that there may never arise again the need for re-baptism. It is important also that in our burning zeals to do God's work right we avoid over-zealousness that also muddles things up. Who told you that given the right determination, tolerance of long suffering and steadfast prayers you cannot bring about revival in RCCG? Who told you that the place you are now God moulded it in Heaven and dropped it down on it as 100% perfect? Who told you that those in RCCG are simply Pastor Adeboye's zombies? What makes you think that given the opportunity to do God's work over the same length of time Adeboye has done it, you will emerge even as clean as Adeboye? Yes we are all witnesses to the growing rot in the RCCG, but are there no better platforms for you to raise dust? Has the same God that raised RCCG appointed you as an anti-RCCG crusader of the world? At least, to the best of my knowledge, RCCG is still one of the present day churches with sound, pure and perfect doctrines, even if their implementation of these doctrines are far from perfect (which is the major challenge in today's churches). Didn't realize through Foundation Class that even RCCG preaches against these things you mentioned above (unlike other churches that cannot even see anything wrong in them).

We should be careful how we rush to public platforms to vent over highly spiritual matters!
