Nigerians, Prepare For Flooding - A Revelation

Nigerians, Prepare For Flooding - A Revelation
Deuteronomy 29:29 says 'The secret things belong unto the LORD our God: but those things which are revealed belong unto us and to our children for ever, that we may do all the words of this law.'

People of God and Nigerians, the Lord showed me a great devastation of flooding in the land this night.

By the grace of God, I am from a community called Evbuohen Noba, in Orhionmwon LGA, Edo State, Nigeria. This community is not tied to any water bodies on its four corners boarders with other communities and at such, it can be at peace regarding ocean surge and river banks overflow. The only threat to flooding in this community is the normal raining season water, that usually take over the middle of the community during heavy downpour. This has been the situation from time immemorial without any single report or incidence of flooding sacking of a household.

However, in my revelation this night, a deadly flooding incident occurred in my own community, sacking all the household there. Ordinarily, I should have nothing to worry about but, it is always safe to take precautionary measures to arrest any seeming situation that appear a threat, whether or not posing any threat at the time.

Therefore, considering the impact of the damages caused by the 2012 flooding scenario in Nigeria, particularly as it affect most States in the Northern part, resulting in the lost of lives, households, farmlands as well as the destruction of aquatic lives, it is pertinent to sound a note of warnings to Nigerians, to be prepare for the eventuality of flooding this year 2013. Remember, no amount of compensation can be enough to buyback or replaced entirely a life lost to flooding.

Meanwhile, the NATIONAL ENVIRONMENTAL STANDARDS AND REGULATIONS ENFORCEMENT AGENCY (NESREA), the Federal Government agency saddled with the responsibility of sounding warnings to the citizens, on the impending environmental challenges, have been communicating with Nigerians through Short Message Service (SMS) of our mobile network service providers, newspapers, radio and television stations, they should also utilise the robust opportunities provided by the social media, to drive home their campaign on flooding and other environmental hazards prevalent in our society today. This call became necessary as a visit to their website www.nesrea.org/ lack current updates. This is also the case with their Facebook Page. An agency of this magnitude can truly use all available spaces, avenues and the resources at their disposal, in getting every citizen as well as visitors to Nigeria informed on the state of our environment.

I hereby call on Dr. (Mrs.) Ngeri S. Benebo, JP, the Director General / CEO of NESREA, to make adequate and purposeful preparations, to get all Nigerians informed on the danger posed to the environment by individuals as well as corporate bodies in destroying the environment,  with their unpatriotic practices. Securing the environment begins with us the citizens.

Moreover, the fact that what I just shared is by revelational understanding, it calls on all of us to become good citizens of Nigeria wherever we found ourselves. Please, don't block the water ways with your buildings, keep the drainage within your domain always free of blockage, and always be proactive in handling the matters of the environment.
God bless.

Long Live NESREA
Long Live The Federal Republic of Nigeria
