The table
above shows the different Internet plans and packages that Glo Mobile Nigeria
is offering to her esteem customers. Why it can be argued that, the various
prices at each segment represent the true nature of the competition as
presented by the various networks providers in Nigeria, particularly telecom
companies, but, the Handsets/Tablets segments seems to be lagging far behind
others in terms of data volume.
The trend in
the world today is fast moving towards mobile communications (internet) which
cuts across all segments of the society. The earlier the Nigerian telcos realize
that, internet services (Mobile Internet) is the next avenue to internet usage
penetration, which is deeply accepted today, and therefore cut (reduce) their
prices, they may soon discover that more of their customers are switching to
other networks with pocket friendly plans and reasonable data volume.
Glo Mobile,
you can’t be offering 6GB data volume to Ghanaians at GHc 55 (about N4,500) and
offer the same data volume to Nigerians at N7,500. How do we get to this low
level? Does it mean that, the Ghana business environment is more conducive and
friendly as compared to Nigeria? By the way, you just started your Mobile
business in Ghana this May, 2012. Therefore, if you can survive among the foremost
mobile networks in Ghana, you can as well pioneer the TOTAL crash of prices to
mobile internet services in Nigeria today. After all, you have your OWN
submarine cable (Glo-1) which you are riding upon to transmit your voice and
data services to the outside world.
Glo, you have
always spearhead the revolution in the Nigerian telecom sector, do this again
so that, we Nigerians can truly enjoy yours services to your father land as ‘our
own’ brand. Let your Green glowing symbol continue to radiate across the breath
and length of Nigeria. We Nigerians believe in your ability to continue to lead
us in the telecom sector as we keep ruling our world.
Meanwhile, you can visit the Glo website to learn more about Glo mobile products and services here http://www.gloworld.com/productnservices.asp
