The Danger Of Fellowship Among Cursed Brethren In A Cursed Church
Text: Joshua 7:1-26
1 But the children of Israel committed a trespass in the accursed thing: for Achan, the son of Carmi, the son of Zabdi, the son of Zerah, of the tribe of Judah, took of the accursed thing: and the anger of the LORD was kindled against the children of Israel.
2 And Joshua sent men from Jericho to Ai, which is beside Bethaven, on the east side of Bethel, and spake unto them, saying, Go up and view the country. And the men went up and viewed Ai.
3 And they returned to Joshua, and said unto him, Let not all the people go up; but let about two or three thousand men go up and smite Ai; and make not all the people to labour thither; for they are but few.
4 So there went up thither of the people about three thousand men: and they fled before the men of Ai.
5 And the men of Ai smote of them about thirty and six men: for they chased them from before the gate even unto Shebarim, and smote them in the going down: wherefore the hearts of the people melted, and became as water.
6 And Joshua rent his clothes, and fell to the earth upon his face before the ark of the LORD until the eventide, he and the elders of Israel, and put dust upon their heads.
7 And Joshua said, Alas, O LORD God, wherefore hast thou at all brought this people over Jordan, to deliver us into the hand of the Amorites, to destroy us? would to God we had been content, and dwelt on the other side Jordan!
8 O LORD, what shall I say, when Israel turneth their backs before their enemies!
9 For the Canaanites and all the inhabitants of the land shall hear of it, and shall environ us round, and cut off our name from the earth: and what wilt thou do unto thy great name?
10 And the LORD said unto Joshua, Get thee up; wherefore liest thou thus upon thy face?
11 Israel hath sinned, and they have also transgressed my covenant which I commanded them: for they have even taken of the accursed thing, and have also stolen, and dissembled also, and they have put it even among their own stuff.
12 Therefore the children of Israel could not stand before their enemies, but turned their backs before their enemies, because they were accursed: neither will I be with you any more, except ye destroy the accursed from among you.
13 Up, sanctify the people, and say, Sanctify yourselves against to morrow: for thus saith the LORD God of Israel, There is an accursed thing in the midst of thee, O Israel: thou canst not stand before thine enemies, until ye take away the accursed thing from among you.
14 In the morning therefore ye shall be brought according to your tribes: and it shall be, that the tribe which the LORD taketh shall come according to the families thereof; and the family which the LORD shall take shall come by households; and the household which the LORD shall take shall come man by man.
15 And it shall be, that he that is taken with the accursed thing shall be burnt with fire, he and all that he hath: because he hath transgressed the covenant of the LORD, and because he hath wrought folly in Israel.
16 So Joshua rose up early in the morning, and brought Israel by their tribes; and the tribe of Judah was taken:
17 And he brought the family of Judah; and he took the family of the Zarhites: and he brought the family of the Zarhites man by man; and Zabdi was taken:
18 And he brought his household man by man; and Achan, the son of Carmi, the son of Zabdi, the son of Zerah, of the tribe of Judah, was taken.19 And Joshua said unto Achan, My son, give, I pray thee, glory to the LORD God of Israel, and make confession unto him; and tell me now what thou hast done; hide it not from me.
20 And Achan answered Joshua, and said, Indeed I have sinned against the LORD God of Israel, and thus and thus have I done:
21 When I saw among the spoils a goodly Babylonish garment, and two hundred shekels of silver, and a wedge of gold of fifty shekels weight, then I coveted them, and took them; and, behold, they are hid in the earth in the midst of my tent, and the silver under it.
22 So Joshua sent messengers, and they ran unto the tent; and, behold, it was hid in his tent, and the silver under it.
23 And they took them out of the midst of the tent, and brought them unto Joshua, and unto all the children of Israel, and laid them out before the LORD.
24 And Joshua, and all Israel with him, took Achan the son of Zerah, and the silver, and the garment, and the wedge of gold, and his sons, and his daughters, and his oxen, and his asses, and his sheep, and his tent, and all that he had: and they brought them unto the valley of Achor.
25 And Joshua said, Why hast thou troubled us? the LORD shall trouble thee this day. And all Israel stoned him with stones, and burned them with fire, after they had stoned them with stones.
26 And they raised over him a great heap of stones unto this day. So the LORD turned from the fierceness of his anger. Wherefore the name of that place was called, The valley of Achor, unto this day.

Here is an adage from my local Nigerian dialect:
“O rumwon kpa ore no gbe awa vbe idunmwun, a na gha tie idunmwun igbawa. Meaning, it is one person that killed dog in a street, and people turned the whole street to the street of dog killers”.

In the same manner, when a single person or group of persons is living a life of worldliness and sin in the church, the whole congregation will be affected negatively with their continuous presence and membership of the assembly, no matter the number of people living a holy life there Joshua 7:18.
The church is the centre of holiness and righteousness but, when they fail to realize their spiritual state as Christians and thereby become unholy, the presence of the Lord will no longer dwell there any more Genesis 3:6. God will never for any reason force himself into any man to obey him, hence he declared in Deuteronomy 30:19 that, the power to make a choice lies in your hands.
Now, when a single righteous person is among the congregation of sinners Psalms 1:1, he only will continue to represent the presence of God in such assembly Exodus 32:26 but, there is room for this single righteous individual to fall into sin and become worldly like the others Psalms 125:3, as a result of the absence of anyone that will keep on sharpening his sword together with him Proverbs 27:17. This is why you should see the present church you are worshipping as your primary place of spiritual upliftment but, when they become like others 1 Samuel 8:20, you should therefore consider your stand 1 Corinthians 10:12.

The church or assembly you chooses to become a member is of great value to your soul due to the fact that, you are being fed with the spiritual food of the assembly. Should your pastor and other church members be operating under a curse as a result of their deviations and disobedience to the word of God, you too by means of association will become a partaker of their cursed ministry 1 Corinthians 6:16. Watch where you are standing right now, should you desire to make heaven Psalms 1:1.
Moreover, the bible declared that, the sacrifice of a sinner is abomination to the Lord in Proverbs 15:8, how much more when he brings it with a wicked mind Proverbs 21:27.
The word of God is very clear and is against women opening their heads while praying 1 Corinthians 11:5-6, against women wearing trousers Deuteronomy 22:5, against the use of jewelries (wedding rings, earrings, necklaces, bangles, chains, etc) Genesis 35:1-5, against worldly adornment (mini skirts, spaghetti, sleeveless clothing, etc) 1 Peter 3:3, 1 Timothy 2:9, against the attire of prostitutes and harlotry (painting, make-up, false nails, high heels, etc) Jeremiah 4:30, 2 Kings 9:30, against strange apparel (attachments, perming of hair, weave-ons, etc) Zephaniah 1:8, and several other satanic things which are actually unfruitful works of darkness. Ephesians 5:11 says, "And have no fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness, but rather reprove them".

So then, if you are still under the churches and ministries who believes and used these satanic things and materials, your prayers may not be answered due to the fact that, all the prayers said from such churches are regarded as abominations unto the Lord Proverbs 15:8, no matter how highly placed and respected the pastor of such churches may be held Romans 2:11. Have you asked yourself: Why are there so many atrocities in the land today, despite the increasing number of churches?

WHY IS IT DANGEROUS TO REMAIN UNDER SUCH A CHURCH?
There's no way to exhaust the reason(s) why you should avoid these cursed churches and fellowships centers but, here are some of them amongst others.

* You will share from their sins in the Day of Judgment. Achan alone committed the accursed thing but his entire family paid with their lives for it Joshua 7:24-26.

* You will be consumed together with them Numbers 16:32, Genesis 19:15.

* You will die because of their sin Exodus 20:5.

* You will become like them sooner or later Numbers 25:3, Luke 15:15.

* You will become comfortable in sin and see evil as 'righteousness' Isaiah 5:20.

* Your love for God and the things of God will become cold Matthew 24:12.

* You can miss the rapture and heaven 1 Thessalonians 4:16.

* You will automatically become God's enemy by aligning yourself with his own enemies James 4:4.

* The devil will become your father John 8:44.

* You will eventually end up in hell fire Luke 12:5, Psalms 9:17, Revelation 19:20, Revelation 20:15.

MY RECOMMENDATIONS:
There is no single denomination or fellowship around the world that can save you or, earn you heaven on the platter of gold outside Jesus Christ only Acts 4:12. In fact, our salvation is not by the works of righteousness we will do or may have done Titus 3:5, Ezekiel 33:13, is it purely by the mercies and grace of God through faith in Jesus Christ Ephesians 2:8. No one can ever attain the level of righteousness to make heaven Isaiah 64:6, unless God inputs his own righteousness through Jesus Christ on us Psalms 7:17, 2 Corinthians 5:21, Romans 3:22, 2 Peter1:1.
However, because we will not forsake the assembly of ourselves together Hebrews 10:25, and again, as the bible enjoins us to come out from among them and touch not unclean things 2 Corinthians 6:17, I can therefore vouch and recommend Deeper Life Bible Church for you. I am confident that, you will get to understand the ways of the holiness of the Lord God 1 Peter 1:15-16, Leviticus 11:44; 19:2; 20:7, when you are in the midst of a church and people that believes, practice and teaches  ‘true’ holiness.
Above all, pray for the leadership and direction of the Holy Spirit, to guide you to all truth and show you his 'true church'John 14:26, 1 Corinthians 2:10, where your spirit will be built up into the holiness of the word of God, as holiness becometh thy habitation O LORD for ever Ps 93:5.
Heaven and all that is already there, including everyone that will make it there by the grace of God have been dedicated to holiness. Therefore, you can NEVER enter into heaven with your defiled body Revelation 21:27, 1 Corinthians 3:17, your proud look Proverbs 6:17, your immoral lifestyle 1 Timothy 1:10, your cursed offering and sacrifice Numbers 26:61, your disobedient heart1 Kings 13:26 and with your worldliness, due to the fact that, you made yourself God's own enemy by loving the world system and the things of this satanic world 1 John 2:15-17.

May the Almighty God open your understanding Ephesians 1:18 that you may be well rooted and grounded in his word Colosians 2:7. May God see you and all that is yours through to eternity in heaven, so that you will not run the race in vain in Jesus name, amen Philippians 2:16.
Remember, you must not agree with the unfruitful works of darkness Ephesians 5:11, as there will never be fellowship between RIGHTEOUSNESS and UNRIGHTEOUSNESS, neither will there ever be communion between LIGHT and DARKNESS 2 Corinthians 6:14. The difference between the sons of God 2 Corinthians 6:18 and the children of Belial Deuteronomy 13:13 are superlatively clear.
