What I Saw About The Year 2013

Good after Nigerians, Happy New Year 2013 in advance.

Though I’m not a PROPHET in the word of it but, I am a child of God. So, I will tell you how and what the upcoming year 2013 will/may look like.

Now, according to the book of Isaiah 60:1-2. It says;

1. Arise, shine; for thy light is come, and the glory of the LORD is risen upon thee.

 2. For, behold, the darkness shall cover the earth, and gross darkness the people: but the LORD shall arise upon thee, and his glory shall be seen upon thee.

Nigerians, I will not be surprised to see headlines on Tuesday 1^st, January, 2013, with messages of Prosperity, Favours, Abundance in the land, Peace everywhere, Promotions, Year of answered Prayers, etc from our Pastors and general overseers in their New Year declarations. Not contesting any of their (prophetic) utterances that will be uttered shortly but, let me quickly point to Nigerians that, the year 2013 is going to be a very turbulent year.

The turbulent nature of the Year 2013 is going to be in three (3) dimensions:-

a.     First degree

b.     Second degree and

c.      Third degree

Remember, as a result of the year being turbulent, it means that the rate at which evil will be perpetrated in the land will be of higher magnitude but, God will cause Nigeria to overcome. Although these three dimensions of degrees of turbulence have no time frame, but there is just one thing to do as a Nation so as not to partake of the evils.

In 2 Chronicles 7:14, the Bible declares; “If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land”. I therefore call on all Nigerians, irrespective of your religious belief to please, pray, that Nigeria will overcome all the challenges that may engulf this land.

Remember, to be forewarn is to be forearm. God bless the Federal Republic of Nigeria as I wish all Nigerians, a HAPPY and PROSPEROUS 2013. God bless.

Nigerians, Please Pray!

I am not a Prophet but, I am a Child of God. Therefore, what I am about to share with you and I believe, should you really decides to pray, the consequences will be averted. Thank you in advance as I hope you will truly pray as a Nigerian.

I remembered in time past that, I told Nigerians on Monday, April 2, 2012, that, there was something cooking between President Goodluck Jonathan and Chief Olusegun Obasanjo, the former President of Nigeria. Though, not really sure about what the issues was with them at the time but, it was an argument of the conduct of elections between Iwu and Jega. A day after I made that observation, on Tuesday, April 3, 2012, it was reported in the media that, Obasanjo has resigned his position as the PDP BOT chairman. After this news was published by the media, I reminded Nigerians on Wednesday April 4, 2012, of my earlier post. See here https://www.facebook.com/lugardek/posts/3177886524293. Was this an issue? Yes, as a result of the fact that, the president of Nigeria, who is a PDP member do have a working relationship between himself and the BOT chairman of his party. For when there are soar relationship between the duo, the citizens of the nation are the ones that usually suffers, as there will be a near absence of governance in the land. Nigerians should never again be used as the sacrificial lambs whenever there are disputes among the political helmsmen in our nation. We all be involve and the time is now.

From the foregoing, we must all remember the challenges the current insecurity situation have created, especially in the northern states of Nigeria. The Boko Haram menace is a challenge we all must endeavour to see its ending very soon. The number of souls that have been wasted in this terrorist situation should call for concern among the citizens of this great nation. We all must see ourselves as partners in steering the progressive Ship of Nigeria. We must as a matter of urgency put behind us our political, ethnic, religious and tribal divide behind us, for the betterment of Nigeria and for the safe future of our unborn generations.

Now, the essence of my calling for prayers from Nigerians, is the fact that, I foresee a situation that will shake Nigeria to her foundations, if will ‘FAIL’ to pray. A gang of terrorists will emerge in Ogun State, and their primary assignment will be to eliminate major traditional rulers in that state. Nigerians, should you allow this to happen by not praying, nobody should ever complain if Nigeria finally breaks into pieces.

During the same period, another gang of terrorists will emerge from the South – South, particularly Rivers State. Their terrorists operations will be directed towards the oil industry, as they will embark on adopting, kidnapping and killing of oil workers, both national and foreign figures.

Ha! These are grave situations with grave consequences should we Nigerians neglect this humble appeal, to secure the Sovereign state of Nigeria, through consecrated effort in prayers to God, who alone have the power to stop the plot of the wicked against the land. As I end this note, please remember  that in 2nd Chronicles 7:14, the Bible says:- ‘If my people who are called by my name humble themselves, and pray and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin and heal their land’. May the Almighty God hear our prayers for Nigeria as we collectively pour out heart in prayers to Him to ensuring that of land is delivered from the hands of wicked men. God bless the Federal Republic of Nigeria. Thank you all!

Money for job: Taming the monster amongst us!

Nigerians, it is no longer news that, when you as an applicant are seeking for a job, especially in the government circles, you are always traumatized as a result of the fact that, the few available jobs are reserved for the highest bidder.

These wicked practices by government officials have been going on in Nigeria for ages pasts yet, the agencies that are mandated to effect a corrupt free Nigeria are feigning ignorant of these silly practices. It is no surprise that, in Nigeria, the more graduates are graduates are produced each year, the more non available jobs are seen.

Now, in a normal situation, as graduates are being produced, so we have retirees being produced with equal proportion, bridging the vacuum created by the retiring government officials but, in Nigeria, we only get to see and hear of new sets of graduates each year, without any available jobs for them. Where is our retiring government officials’ year in year out?

In getting this monster arrested, we as concern citizens of Nigeria must ensure that, we are ready to expose whoever is involved and being used as fronts for the thieving elites. Be ready to make a difference in every singular situation you find yourself. I do agree that, as a result of the non availability of ready jobs, individual job seekers will be tempted to do anything to secure a job, especially those that appears to be very lucrative. Should every one of us continue to feign ignorance, how then will corruption, especially government official corruption ends in Nigeria? We all must be ready to make a difference.

Therefore, as a job seeker, show these demons that you are ready to play balls in meeting every of their single demand as it relates to you paying them some certain amount before you are even given the opportunity to apply for the jobs but, make it a duty to show them that, you want every deal with official commitments, which will includes you asking for their real names, positions, photograph etc. You are only doing this to expose the perpetrators of this evil in the public sector.

This issue of money for jobs is an age long practices in the public sector in Nigeria. Therefore, should any government official feign ignorant of this ignoble phenomenon, he/she is only deceiving him/her self. Due to the fact that, everybody sees these evils as normal, the clique have equally taken over pension offices, making new pensioners to go through hell, before their files will ever get to the appropriate quarters for signing.

In a recent parley with the youths in Abuja for the Nigeria 52nd Independence celebrations, the Senior Special Assistant to the President on Youth and Student Matters, Mr. Jude Imagwe, appeared shocked when told about the ordeals Nigerian youths were undergoing in the hands of fraudsters in seeking for job. Although he promised to report it directly to President Goodluck Jonathan, but, I am sure he was just buying time. I am too sure that, the matter was buried immediately he left the venue of the parley. This act according to the youths leaders who attended the parley were particular about the paramilitary agencies that are involved in the mess. They usually collects huge sum of money from job seekers which ranges between N200,000 to N1,000,000.

It was highlighted during the parley that, Immigration Service usually collect bribe of N500,000 from those who want to be enlisted in the service. The Nigerian Customs Service goes for N500,000, the Nigerian Prisons Service goes for N300,000 while the Nigerian Security and Civil Defense Corps goes for  N300, 000. These are beside other corrupt practice which do take place in the medical arena, as job seekers are made to pay between N200,000 and N700,000 to get a nursing job. It was equally reported in an online media some few weeks ago, how one Mr. Akeem Tiamiyu, an officer of the rank of ASC 1, head of NSCDC anti-corruption unit, who equally doubles as an adviser to the Commandant General of the Nigerian Security and Civil Defense Corps, Dr. Ade Abolurin, was caught at a hotel in Gwagwalada, a suburb of Abuja, “sharing” letters of employment to prospective new employees, who were expected to pay the sum of N300,000 each to collect their letters. The incident, according to Newsdiaryonline.com, happened on the 27th of September 2012, at about 2.00Pm, at Atlas Hotel in Gwagwalada, where the head of the anti corruption unit of the corps was busy “trading” with 2000 appointment letters in his possession. Insiders said the arrest of the head of the supposed anti-graft chief has raised eye brows within the corps because the letters were actually signed by the commandant General Dr. Abolurin. The question now, was the CG’s signature forged? Insiders claimed the signatures were real .But how did it happen? Now, if a supposed anti-graft officer in the NSCDC can go this far, in monetizing employment with corrupt tendencies, who then can fight this monster called corruption? We all must make it a point of duty to expose every corrupt practice around us, in order to tame this monster. It must be noted that, even the private sector is not left out of the corruption mess. Some members of staff in private organization do make preference for people who are ready to play ball (bribe), in order to award one form of contract or the other for them.

It is no longer news that, our government celebrates criminality, whereby a thief is given a presidential welcome from prisons. As a result of the closeness of the Oil Subsidy thieves to the corridors of power, no one, I mean no one has ever been prosecuted neither will they ever do so. This is why fighting corruption in Nigeria appear difficult. The ICPC and EFCC are just there doing their own thing while the essence of their formation is suffering. The list of those that have fall victims to these criminal acts goes on and on. Where will justice come from? Nigeria, which way from here?

Brutally Tortured, Metal Inserted Into Her Private Part By Nigerian Policemen (A MUST READ)

We have heard about the different tough measures used by the members of the Nigerian Police force to torture accused persons in the past, but i bet this one will shock you all.

A middle-aged woman, Mrs. QUEEN AKINDELENI, of Anu Oluwa Complex, Jolu Road, Sango-Ota, Ogun State made these revelations.

This is her story in her own words....

I was a property developer and seller of building materials at Edu Agbara, Ogun State prior to my arrest, detention and injuriously torture sometimes in October, 2009.

I woke up one morning and suddenly allegations were made against me was that I was responsible for the death of my husband Mr. Ayodele Akindeleni whose where about could not be ascertained at the time, then the matter was reported at Agbara Police Station, Agbara, Ogun State.

I went to Agbara Police Station, Agbara,Ogun State, myself on the 12th of October 2009 to report the matter after I was threatened by the family of Mr. Ayodele Akindeleni that they will kill me and my Children, Charles Ighovoyiwi and Esther Ighovoyiwi, if I did not tell them the where about of Mr. Ayodele Akindeleni.

I made the compliant on the threat to my life and the lives of my children, I was not permitted to leave the Police Station, and as my children came one after another to look for me, they were also arrested.

They expected me to make a confessional statement that I killed Mr. Ayo Akindeleni, after his family member, James Akindeleni, came to complain.

The D. P. O. of Agbara Police Station at that material time told the team investigating the case that they should not call the case murder case, but rather missing of Mr. Ayo Akindeleni.

My son Charles came to look for me after he came back from school and it was the heavy noise of his cry that made me knew he was around. Charles later told me and I believe it to be true that it was the back of a gun that was used to hit him at his legs.

I totally do not know anything about the disappearance of Mr. Ayodele Akindeleni, neither was I responsible for his alleged death, on a Saturday I was taken to one bush to go and see one skeleton/Carcass they called the carcass of Mr. Ayo Akindeleni. The next day which was Sunday the team of Police Officers who investigated the case at Agbara Station, excluding DCO 1, whose name I did not know, and the D. P. O., came to station and took me out. The team of Police Officers who investigated the case at the Police Station, Agbara, Ogun State, tortured me with cruelty that I must confess that I killed the alleged deceased person.

I can only remember the first names of two out of the team of Police Officers who were involved in this case at Agbara Police Station, Agbara, Ogun State; the first names are Shadrach (DCO 2) and Raphael. Shadrach gave me one straight metal with four corners, which looked like window aluminium to carry and tell him whether it was heavy or not. I told him the metal was heavy and he took it from me and Shadrach started using it to beat me repeatedly on the left side of my body from up to down.

Then later the three other Police Officers joined him (Shadrach), they beat me with the metals in their hands and led me to the Barrack (the Police residence within the premises), as I was struggling to climb the veranda Shadrach used the metal in his hand to strike me hard at my back, I fell down immediately and could not stand. As they were doing these I was screaming and wailing with pain that was beyond description.

They later took me into a bathroom, and i was asked to remove my under wear (pant). The team of Police Officers who investigated the case asked a female officer, whose name I could not remember, to insert the metal which Shadrach gave her into my private part. The Female Police officer asked me to be screaming as if she has inserted it and I did as she instructed me.The Female Police officer later told them that she had inserted the metal into my private part but I did not confess.

Then Shadrach came to the bathroom and took the metal from the female officer and tried to perceive it smell/odour to confirm if it was truly inserted into my private part. Shadrach discovered that the metal was not inserted into my private part, he took it himself and held me with force to the ground, with my legs wide opened and forcefully inserted the metal into my womanly.

Shadrach inserted the metal into me forcefully, I screamed with the whole of my strength and I felt as if life had gone out of me.

Then immediately he removed the metal I faintly saw a heavy rush of blood out of my womanliness, but was weak and helpless. I was held and partially carried back to the passage of the Police Station, Agbara where I was laid on the floor. I was there on the floor blood continued to flow and I discovered that I eventually fainted, because I woke up and I saw myself soaked with water. When the D. P. O. of the Police Station saw me, he was surprised and asked whether they tortured me and they responded that they did not torture me.

I was not attended to by anyone and I started smelling. About four days later a man was invited to examine me and they later brought drugs for me to use. I discovered that with the drugs I was given the flow of blood reduced. I then noticed that urine was just leaking out of my private part and I could not control it at all.

My daughter Esther Ighovoyiwi who was twelve (12) year old at the material time was arrested on the same allegation at Agbara Police Station, Agbara, Ogun State by the team of Police Officers who investigated the case. While Esther Ighovoyiwi was in detention, though only for that day when she came to look for me, at Agbara Police Station, she was severally slapped and inhumanly assaulted, by Shadrach, to the extent that she became sick and had her ears discharged pos uncontrollably under groaning pain. Esther Ighovoyiwi was eventually released on bail after her arrest and brief detention, which I knew, was unlawful.

My son Charles Ighovoyiwi who was Fourteen years old (14) at the material time was arrested, detained and tortured by the team of Police Officers who investigated the case, they beat up Charles Ighovoyiwi, using sticks on him and even threatened to kill him. My son spent one month and twenty nine days in detention at Agbara Police Station, Agbara without being charged or convicted of any crime.

After I was transferred to Nigeria Police Force, State Headquarters, Elewe Eran, Abeokuta, Ogun State, my son told me that he was released by the influence of one man, whose name he did not know. The Police Officers who were equally part of the investigating team at the Nigeria Police Force, State Headquarter, Elewe Eran, Abeokuta, knew I was tortured and blood and urine was flowing from my womanliness. They then went on to summon the team of Police Officers who investigated the case at Agbara Police Station and he asked me to identify the person that inserted metal into my womanliness, which I did.

However i was not provided with medical attention at Elewe Eran, Nigeria Police Force Headquarters, Abeokuta throughout my stay there. I was took into the Prison Custody, Nigerian Prison Service, Ibara, Abeokuta, Ogun State, with blood stained clothes and I was walking half-bent and I had to lean on someone, sometimes standing objects and walls to support myself. Even the staff of the Nigeria Prison Service, Ibara, Abeokuta, Ogun State at the material time, including the medical personals at the Prison’s Clinic knew that my womanliness was releasing urine uncontrollably and I had chronic pains in my back, bones and other parts of my body.

I was later given treatment in the Clinic of the Nigeria Prison Service, Ibara, Abeokuta, Ogun State, and I was referred to Federal Medical Centre, but there was no money for my treatment. I was not taken to any Hospital for treatment outside the Nigeria Prison Service, Ibara, Abeokuta, Ogun State.

During my stay at Ibara, i was interviewed by delegates from Citizens’ Right Department, Ministry of Justice, Oke Mosan, Abeokuta, Ogun State, I was also interviewed by one Barr. Ashaolu Joshua Olabowale , sometimes in July, 2010, who I identified as a member of the National Youth Service Corps because of the NYSC uniform he wore at the welfare Department, Nigeria Prison Service, Ibara, Abeokuta. Barr. Ashaolu Joshua Olabowale told me and I very believed him to be true that he was serving with Ministry of Justice Ogun State as 2010/2011(BATCH A) member. He then told me that he was interested in my case. On subsequent visit to the Nigeria Prison Service, Ibara, Barr. Ashaolu Joshua Olabowale told me that he was handling my case personally, but was supervised by a senior State Counsel at the Citizens Right Department, Ministry of Justice, Ogun State. I was released on 2ndof September,2010 by the Order of the Chief Magistrate Court, Agbara based on the Advice of the Director of Public Prosecution, Ministry of Justice, Ogun State. I was made to understand that the allegation against me was frivolous, baseless and lacks merit, particularly considering the facts and evidence of the police.

They said that i and my children suffered for what we did not know about. After my release from the Prison Custody Barr. Ashaolu Joshua Olabowale took me to the Federal Medical Centre, Idi Aba, Abeokuta, where I was examined at the Department of Obstetrics & Gynaecology and I was asked to run several tests. My Hospital Card number is 80626.

After the medical examinations and tests were carried out, Barr. Ashaolu Joshua applied for my Medical Report. I was confirmed to have Vesico-womanly Fistula (VVF), which it main symptom is continuous involuntary discharge of urine, because of the abnormal openings in the internal parts of my Core/womanliness caused by the metal the Police Officer inserted into my womanliness. I was scheduled to undergo further examination which I was preparing for when I lost contact with Barr. Ashaolu Joshua O. All my efforts to get him proved abortive, because I left the place where I was squatting and I was not using a mobile phone. I did not hear from him or see him till the end of his stay in Abeokuta.

I went to the Citizen’s Right Department, Ministry of Justice, Abeokuta, Ogun State and I was told to go and treat myself because they cannot take up the matter for me. I was told by one of the Doctors that examined me that my case requires a major repair surgery and I know it must be very expensive. They said i could not go for the final examination and treatment because I had no money. I am still living with my situation and it is even worst now, because I ooze foul odour and release urine involuntarily, apparently an effect of a ruptured bladder occasioned by the inhuman torture I suffered in the hands of the Investigating Police Officer at Agbara Police Station, Ogun State. So because I could not afford to treat myself in Abeokuta and to avoid the way I am being openly embarrassed by the way I smell, the way I am rejected and avoided, I relocated to a village in Ogun State, where I now farm to survive.

I was a successful business woman before, had taken a long walk from Agbara POLICE DETENTION TO ELEWE ERAN, ABEOKUTA POLICE DETENTION TO NIGERIA PRISON SERVICE CUSTODY TO ABEOKUTA TOWNSHIP AS WONDERER AND NOW IN A VILLAGE IN OGUN STATE LIVING ALONE, APPARENTLY WAITING FOR MY END.

I have been kicked out of the public, I have to withdraw because I am often rejected and avoided. I have lived with continuous flow of urine from my womanliness and have used cloths among others as sanitary pad to pack my Core/womanliness for more than one thousand (1000) days. The trauma of the barbaric acts still frightens me.

The V. V. F., general body and internal pains and other health issues confirmed in my body after examinations still remain untreated.

Charles Ighovoyiwi, who was a student of Tech 1, Technical College Igbesa, Ogun State missed all school activities for a whole school term. Esther Ighovoyiwi (age 12) who was a student of Edu Agbara Community Secondary School had to leave school and fend for herself. My children are now drop outs and have no hope of going back to school. My little Esther had to become a mother when she never wanted.

THE NOTORIOUS TOUTS CITY CALLED ONITSHA

Onitsha is the headquarters of Onitsha North Local Government Areas of Anambra State, South-East Nigeria. It is a bubbling city with high rate of commercial activities. It is a center to various big and small businesses scattered across the place.

For a first time visitor to Onitsha, he/she will mistake the place for a well organized society but, it is far from it. This is as a result of the many ills that go up here, even in the day light. The cases of robbery, pickpockets, dubious and vexatious taxing, deadly looking touts and so much notorious activities happen here unabated.

The essence of this right up is a result of the bitter experience I faced in the hands of touts, in the name of collecting revenue for the State government. Or, is it Local government now? I don’t know.

The date was Tuesday, 4 September, 2012. I was returning to the Northern states, from Benin City, the Edo State Capital, and my home state, where I went to spend some days while on my annual leave. Although this was not my first time of visiting or passing through Onitsha to my destinations, but, my experiences of that day angered me to my bone marrow.

Starting my journey from Benin City, I boarded the buses of Faith Motors, a private transport company, located along Akpakpava Street, by 2^nd East Circular Road Junction, Benin City. All through our journey until the first passenger dropped at Asaba, the Delta State Capital, it was all very peaceful and smooth, though it was raining. After leaving Asaba and heading straight through the River Niger Bridge, we arrived Onitsha, the city known for its notorious tout activities.

The termination of our journey is the general motor park, which is very close to the Onitsha - Port Harcourt road overhead bridge, by the right as you face Asaba. This park is where all passengers vehicles from Benin City stop after revising through the overhead bridge. This park is also the place to carry passengers en route Lagos, Benin City, Uyo etc. It is very close to Ifeanyi Chukwu Luxurious Park, Onitsha.

Therefore, after alighting from the bus that took me from Benin City to Onitsha with the loads I carried in bags, a tout showed up while bargaining with a wheelbarrow pusher, to take my loads to G.U.O Okereke Motors, a luxurious park that services some selected Northern cities, like Yola, Jalingo, Sokoto, Kano etc. Meanwhile, the distance between this park and G.U.O is about a minute walk. So, he came with a receipt asking me to pay for dropping my load there. I asked him, is it me paying for my load, or the wheelbarrow pusher for his daily tax? It fell on deaf ears. So I ended up parting with N50.

As soon as we left this park and turning to the small road from the overhead bridge, another tout accosted us. He brought another receipt asking me to pay as well. Remember, we are on our way to G.U.O, not that we stop there for anything. I was wondering: When did Onitsha becomes this notorious for ticketing? Who am I complaining to? Nobody of course. Then and again, I parted with N20.

We therefore take the short road that passes through one market to burst out directly opposite G.U.O Park, lo and behold, a 3^rd tout with another ticket. This time, I became furious and challenged their extorting menace. Again, who am I complaining to? This is because the average touts in Onitsha sees it as normal, when they are extorting money from passersby in the name of collecting revenue for the government. I am very sure that, this continuous daylight robbery by these touts is being monitored by their Ogas, who are nothing but touts as well waiting for the bounty their boys will bring on a daily basis.

I told them that in Benin City, where I came from, we don’t maltreat visitors and passersby in this way. It is on record that, the local governments that collects revenue for the various local councils in Edo State, do so with high sense of responsibility. A wheelbarrow pusher is billed once in a day and after paying and collecting his ticket, his customers, no matter the amount of load they may be carrying is never charge extra dine. It therefore became a surprised to me that Onitsha, which I passed before with similar loads and even more without paying any form of ticket, have become so notorious in ticketing.

Therefore, after shouting at them, I paid the money they were asking which was N20. Note that these short roads where these hooligans are daily robbing people in the name of collecting revenue for the government are in deep mess. No form of sign of the presence of government, let alone maintaining it for easy passage for commuters. You have to fold your trousers up when it rains otherwise, mud will become your neighbour as you walk along those short roads. It is very annoying I must confess. This is the height of irresponsible government administration that prides itself in the suffering of the public that passes their domain.

Now, considering how much money will be collected (exploited) from the public, who are passersby or petty trade vendors by these touts on a daily basis, it will leave one to wonder, whose interest is the government of the day serving in Anambra?

Moreover, when I finally got to G.U.O Motor Park, I was unlucky as the bus loading for Yola, the Adamawa State Capital have been fully booked when I arrived. Having missed G.U.O, I then settled for Eze Nwanta transport, which is just a stone thrown from G.U.O.

For the entire time I spent while waiting for our onward departure to Yola, I saw a repeat of the operations of these touts abusing and intimidating petty vendors with different types of receipts, threatening to seize their wares should they refuse to pay, not minding that the gains these people are getting from their sales are nothing to write home about. My God! What sort of robbery is this in the name of revenue collection? Mark you, these petty hawkers of Chinchin, Oha leave, groundnut, biscuits and sweets and other petty stuff, are also made to pay at every single motor park they will visit each day.

However, one may argue that these revenue that is been collected are minimal. Yes, they are minimal but, considering the number of victims that will fall to their trap each day, it brings this minimal amount of money in huge income in the hands of these government touts.

I therefore call on Mr. Peter Obi, the Anambra State governor, to investigate my claims. I know that if the state government is not behind this daylight robbery by these touts, they will impress it on whosoever is responsible, to stop this public menace in the name of collecting revenue for government. Should the state government take decisive action(s) to ending this touting operations in the state, Anambra will be better for it.
