Woman! Breastfeed Your Baby:
Text: 1 Samuel 1:23 And Elkanah her husband said unto her, Do what seemeth thee good; tarry until thou have weaned him; only the LORD establish his word. So the woman abode, and gave her son suck until she weaned him.
Many of you women today, have become so anointed, sophisticated, educated, scientific and very big that, you no longer breastfeed your babies. What are you doing woman?
People of God, are you surprised about the type of people we have today even among our leaders? It is direct result of the absence of breast milk in their early lives.
God gave you women breast during creation, for the sole aim of producing breast milk for your children during pregnancy, so that your child will have good food to eat at delivery and thereafter hence, the sudden changes that arise on your breast during pregnancy. Now, most of these women denying their children today the benefit of breast milk, are meanwhile feeding their adults husbands with their children's portion. What a pity!
The bible in 1 Peter 2:2 says, 'As newborn babes, desire the sincere milk of the word, that ye may grow thereby'. Just as new converts (babies) in Christ desire the sincere milk (basic teachings) of the word to grow into spiritually sound Christian, so a new born baby desire the breast milk of his mother to grow, so as to have the necessary instruments to fight against early child mortality syndrome. Woman! Breastfeed that child now.
Apostle Paul declared in 1 Corinthians 3:1-2 saying:
1 And I, brethren, could not speak unto you as unto spiritual, but as unto carnal, even as unto babes in Christ.
2 I have fed you with milk, and not with meat: for hitherto ye were not able to bear it, neither yet now are ye able.
Paul was regarding carnal (new converts) people as babies that require breast milk. Woman, why are you therefore denying your natural children to feed on your breast? Didn't God gave you people breasts that your children may be fed by it? Stop your pride and arrogance now and breastfeed your babies.
Even the World Health Organization (WHO), recommends exclusive breastfeeding for at least, six months and up to 2 years with other food supplement.
"Breastfeeding is the normal way of providing young infants with the
nutrients they need for healthy growth and development. Virtually all
mothers can breastfeed, provided they have accurate information, and the
support of their family, the health care system and society at large.
Colostrum, the yellowish, sticky breast milk produced at the end
of pregnancy, is recommended by WHO as the perfect food for the newborn,
and feeding should be initiated within the first hour after birth.
Exclusive breastfeeding is recommended up to 6 months of age, with
continued breastfeeding along with appropriate complementary foods up
to two years of age or beyond".
May God give you people understanding today in Jesus name, amen.
